Potty Training Boys

We want to give you some potty training tips for boys to help you know when to start potty training and how to potty train boys. One of the first things you need to do is figure out is your boy is ready to starting learning how to potty train. Once you figure this out then you can move on to the next step. Some signs you may want to look for are how curious he is his bodily functions. He may want to see how you use the potty. He might start to get very interested in big kid underwear and he might start coming to you right have he has done something in his diaper. Another good indication that he may be ready to potty train is to look at how long he can go without needing his diaper changed. If your son or boy is doing these things then it is time you start learning how to potty train a boy in more detail.
Learning how to potty train a boy seems simple on the outside but can really be much more difficult in reality. One of the best things you can do is have your boy watch his dad pee in the toilet. This will help to give him a good idea of how it is supposed to work. It can sometimes be much easier to show rather than to just tell him how to do it. At this point you will probably want to purchase a little kid potty for him to use. This will make it much easier for him since he will be way to small to fit on an adult size toilet. You might want to take your boy with you when you use the restroom and have him sit on his toilet too so he can get used to the idea of using the bathroom when he has to go rather than just letting loose in his diaper. It can also be helpful to let him pick out some underwear that he likes from the store. This can make it a lot more fun and exciting experience for him, which will make him more interested in doing it.
Another common question in regards potty training a boy is whether to have them stand up or sit down to pee when they first start learning. This might have more to do with how old they are when you start teaching them. Some boys might not be tall enough to reach the toilet and may have to sit down. For other boys it can be pretty difficult for they to aim straight so sitting down would be a better way to start until they get more comfortable doing this. One common downfall parents have when potty training boy is that they expect they to do it on there first or second try. It’s not going to be that easy, it will take some time to get them comfortable using the potty when they need to go.
