Florida Blackout and Miami Power Outage? There was a major power outage today in South Florida. It caused blackout conditions to around 4 million people.
The Florida Blackout was completely unexpected and there have been some news reports that have provided some insight as to what happened. The Miami power outage was caused by a problem with a Dade County substation. This led to the loss of a transmission line and caused many power plants to shut down.
