Mischa Violinist replaced by Guillermo Figueroa? The Music in the Mountains festival is seeing a new era begin after the retirement of Mischa Semanitzky last year. The beloved conductor of the music festival received amazing appreciation from the festival’s crowd last year.
The Mischa Violinist is being replaced by Guillermo Figueroa. He is the music director and conductor of the New Mexico Symphony and also does some work conducting for the Puerto Rico Symphony. This year is the 22nd time the festival has been conducted. It will be interesting to see where the festival goes from here without Mischa Semanitzky pulling the strings.
The Mischa Violinist will always be remembered by those that went to the festival. Some same that during his last concert at the Music in the Mountains he received more standing ovations than there were notes played. That is some serious love right there.
