Kirsten Haglund Miss America 2008. She beat out 51 other contestants to be crowned Miss America 2008 on Saturday night. The “America’s Choice” candidate was Jill Stevens, Miss Utah, but was eliminated in the round of 16.
Kirsten Haglund Miss America 2008 is formally known as Miss Michigan before being crowned. She is from Farmington Hills, Michigan and obviously pleased the judges with her performance to win the crown. She performed an operatic solo as well as expressed her desire to raise awareness for her platform issue of eating disorders.
So what does Kirsten Haglund Miss America 2008 get? Well not only did she win the crown for a year, but she also received a $50,000 scholarship.
