Robert Fidler Farmer Hides Castle From Building Inspectors? Now most people are thinking how on earth could you hide a castle as most castles are huge. Well he did it, Robert Fidler built a big mock castle and hid it with hay bales.
Robert Fidler was trying bypass getting a building permit for the structure which is the biggest reason why the farmer hides castle from building inspectors. There is apparently some clause that says if a structure is built and there are no complaints about it for 4 years then the structure will automatically be approved. He was building the castle on land that no one was currently allowed to build any structures on so he knew if he went to get a building permit he would be denied.
There are now talks that Robert Fidler may have to tear down the structure as building inspectors are not happy. When a farmer hides castle from building inspectors they are most likely not going to be very happy about it. They say if the structure was not able to be seen by anyone then no one could have complained about it, so he basically cheated the system.
