Laura Varker is a 17 year old girl that was involved in a tragic accident last year during Cinco De Mayo. She had been tubing at a place near Mesa, Arizona and had been drinking alcohol that she had bought with a fake ID.
When Laura Varker was driving home from tubing she crashed into a car in front of her that was making a U-turn. The Yukon Denali she was driving rolled many times down the highway before coming to a stop. A passenger in the vehicle by the name of Felicia Edwards was not wearing a seat belt and flew from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Laura Varker did not get in trouble for the accident although she was underage and had a blood alcohol level of 0.09. The guy driving the car she hit is now facing 21years in prison for manslaughter when he did nothing legally wrong. He was making a U-turn on the road where it is legal to do so when he was hit by the Yukon. What do you think about this story, do you think the authorities are looking at this accident the right way?

I think your summary is blatantly biased, flawed, and missing many crucial elements.
What “elements” are missing? The details in the story are accurate. Laura Varker was underage and driving drunk when she pulled an illegal maneuver and hit another vehicle which was driving legally. This resulted in a rollover accident which killed another girl. None of this has been contested. The young man whose vehicle was hit was actually charged with manslaughter and was facing hard time. Fortunately, he was just acquitted. The only offense Wilkerson committed was fleeing the accident scene, for which he was found guilty and will soon be sentenced. The county attorney’s office actually tried to railroad HIM for something he didn’t do.
