Maria Lauterbach missing and pregnant? The 20 year old marine from the 2nd Marine Logistics Group at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina has been reported missing. The scary thing is that she is eight months pregnant.
Maria Lauterbach was reported missing by her mother on December 19 of 2007. Mary Lauterbach is very concerned that something happened to her daughter because she was scheduled to testify about something that happened on the military base. Maria Lauterbach was supposedly a witness to the incident.
Authorities have reported that there is cause for concern about what has happened to Maria Lauterbach because of evidence that has been discovered. They are asking for anyone who knows anything about her whereabouts, has seen Maria Lauterbach, or has seen her vehicle (described as a 2006 Hyundai Sonata, 4 doors and Blue in Color, with N.C. registration of WZN-4597) to contact the Onslow County Sheriff’s Department. The number there is 910-455-3113. There are also saying that anyone that may have information about her whereabouts can contact Crime Stoppers at 910-938-3273. You can contact them anonymously if you need to.
We all hope that Maria Lauterbach is found soon especially considering that she is pregnant and her baby is due very soon. Her mother Mary Lauterbach would surely love to hear that her daughter is ok also. If we hear anymore breaking news regarding this story we will provide an update.

Why is this the first we are hearing about this woman who has been missing for a month?
If this were a black woman (sorry to say but I’ve read an article about 3 black women in louisiana who have gone missing and they did not get any coverage…and they all went to the same college) we would never have heard about it.
Maria not only witnessed an incident, she was a VICTIM! Maria was raped by a married Marine in her barracks room. She waited a week to report the incident. The USMC refused to press charges of rape against her attacker, only to charge him with “adultry” because the baby Maria was carrying was his! The USMC treated Maria as if she were the person who did something wrong! They gave her attacker a slap on the wrist and let him go free. Despite an Order of Protection that Maria had obtained for her own safety against her attacker, her commanding officers forced her to be in the same surroundings as her attacker. Her commanding officers need to be held accountable in some way, aren’t they suppose to HELP their underlings and not devour them? Has anyone checked on what the baby’s daddy is doing? I’m sure his wrist is not hurting anymore…….
I think this is horrible that anyone but especially a Marine is able to rape anyone and not be held accountable for it. I would recommend a dishonerable discharge for this man and any other Military personnele who displays such in appropriate behaivior.This continues to go on and now a beautiful 8 month pregnant young girl is missing. We can only pray for her and her baby’s safe return. Shame on the US Military and government for allowing this man to walk away with out punnishment for what he did.
