Mars Asteroid will blow up planet? Many scientists and other people are taking bets today on whether a giant asteroid named 2007 WD5 will collide with Mars.
The Mars Asteroid is the size of an Olympic swimming pool and is traveling at a blistering speed of 28,000 mph. If it does collide with the planet it will create a whole at least a half mile wide. It has been compared to the equivalent of 3 million tons of TNT. With that kind of force it truly would be something amazing to see.
In reality the Mars Asteroid brings reality back into focus. The very same asteroid could have been on a collision course with earth. Can you imagine what kind of damage something like this would do if it hit it say Los Angeles or New York City. If nothing else it will be interesting to see what happens with the Mars Asteroid. This is hardly a “giant” asteroid… not capable at all to blow up a planet. Something similar has hit Earth in AZ, according to several links to the story, and astronomers.
NASA has wasted $700 billion doing jock strap, “Man In Space” missions worthy of the SCI FI channel or Magic Mountain, killing a dozen people in the process while making 12 widows and three dozen fatherless children while ignoring a real threat to the planet. Most of the administrators in NASA should be fired and some hanged in Fort Marcy Park, unofficial dumping ground for political criminals.
We need a dozen automated detecting and tracking stations around the world to find and analyze every one of these rocks in space as well a plan for intercepting them, putting a rocket engine on them to push them away from Earth.
The elected class is stone stupid, just watch the debates. The average high school debate team puts on a better show and is more sincere.
