Spinka arrested? The rabbi of the Hasidic sect was arrested on Wednesday for his involvement in a tax scheme. Naftali Tzi Weisz is 59 years old and his assistant, Moshe E. Zigelman, were charged on 37 counts of money laundering.
With Spinka arrested, it is shaking up the religous sect. The two have been working on there money laundering scheme for the past decade. They promised donors of contributions that they would return 95% of the donations made. the donors took a 100% tax deduction on the contributions made.
There were six other people involved in the money laundering scheme. With Spinka arrested it should put a stop to the scheme. Its a shame that people in these trusted positions can take advantage of so many people. The sad thing is the people that were making the donations were also being deceitful. If we hear any more breaking news regarding this story we will provide an update.
