Loudoun County Public Schools? There is controversy over being a second high school in Loudoun County and it may be getting close to some sort of end. Supervisors from the county voted on Tuesday to seek a settlement in the legal challenge that is headed to the supreme court. Apparently people that have been fighting about the school placement issues for several years.
The Loudoun County public schools do not currently hold all the students there. They are extremely overcrowded. The second high school they have been trying to build would only be a mile down the road from the existing high school. The town members have been arguing that adding a second high school on the same road will cause major traffic problems in the community.
Scott York, the Loudoun County public school chairman stated “We need to move forward and get the school built because we need the room for the students.” The longtime dispute may be coming to a close soon. Then again it is hard to say considering it has been going on for several years. It is one of those kinds of things that you don’t believe until you actually see it happen. If we hear any breaking news regarding this story we will provide an update.
