Evelyn Mezzich is currently living in Peru. She was the driver of a car that crashed and killed Lindsay Brashier. She was charged with intoxication manslaughter about 10 years ago and fled after a year into the court proceedings.
Evelyn Mezzich has been tracked down and is a citizen in Peru. The FBI has been prevented from bringing her back to the states because of a treaty between the US and Peru. That treaty has recently been amended and they are now able to extradite people from the country.
The interesting thing about the Evelyn Mezzich case is that Lindsay Brashier’s father does not want them to bring her back here because it is just going to open the whole case up again and bring all the heart ache back. The girl’s mother is fighting to bring Evelyn Mezzich back to the states.
Some people are upset because of Evelyn Mezzich Myspace page. On her Myspace page it shows pictures of her drinking and partying and also has the quote “Life’s too short… so live it up.” This has upset many people. It is very interesting what is taking place.
