Byron Velvick was the Bachelor on the sixth season of the popular ABC TV show. He proposed to a girl named Mary Delgado on the last episode of the season. Mary Delgado was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly punching her fiance Byron Velvick in the mouth.
Byron Velvick was not named on the police reports but it did say that the person she assaulted she had been living with for the past three years. The couple had just appeared on a special episode of “The Bachelor” entitled “After the Final Rose.” On the episode the engaged couple stated that they had planed to get married in November.
Byron Velvick is a professional bass fisherman and his fiance Mary Delgado was a former Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleader. The report also stated that she was under the influence of alcohol when she was arrested so it is likely that this played a part in the assault.
