Bernard Kerik Indictment? Bernard B. Kerik is the former New York City police commissioner. He is being charged with conspiracy, tax evasion, and making false statements.
Bernard Kerik indictment was announced by Michael J. Garcia, United States attorney for the Southern District of New York. Bernard Kerik is now in trouble for a whole slew of things associated with him being the cities police commissioner. He reportedly had $250,000 in renovations done to his apartment which was paid for by the city. He received $236,000 in rental payments from a Manhattan Developer. He received $100,000 from a software company and a book publisher. He is in hot water with the IRS for not reporting all of his income and apparently lied to this city on his disclosure of income received.
Bernard Kerik is likely to have a fair amount of legal troubles ahead of him. What makes this case even more interesting is the ties he has had to current President Bush and Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani. It will be interesting to see what happens with this case.
