Aquadots Recall Update

Aquadots Recall Update

Filed Under Health, U.S. News, World News |

Aquadots Recall update.  Yesterday we reported on the Aquadots recall that was put in place by manufacturer Spin Master.  In total they are more than 4 million of these toys that have been recalled.  It is very important for parents to get rid of the Aquadots if you have them in your home.

A toxicologist by the name of Dr. Bernard says the Aquadots recall is with good measure.  He claims that these little beads can provide a double whammy type of situation that is very alarming.  The Aquadot beads have a toxic property that can be harmful when ingested.  After it has been ingested the beads begin to metabolize which causes a second dose to hit you.  The second dose is from GHB which can cause seizures, dizziness, and even coma.  GHB is better known as the date rape drug.

The Aquadots recall has another issue and it has not yet been determined whether this is secondary to the recall or a main reason why the recall was issued.  Apparently there have been adults that have purchased the Aquadots and created the right dosage to be used as the date rape drug.  This is a very scary situation especially for parents with children or even women for that matter.  If we find out any more information about whether this is a reason for the recall or something that has just been discovered we will provide an update.  In the mean time check your homes for these nasty things and get rid of them for your children’s safety.

I would like to know if the “approved formula” for the bead from Spinmaster is good enough for toy safety. So we can see whether the problem is with “design” or “manufacturing”. So we would not be accused of China-bashing.

I believe SpinMaster is ready to accept them and do refund. Check out more details on Consumer Product Safety Center website (www.cpsc.gov).
