Takashi Murakami is an Japanese artist from the 1990’s. His art was very intriguing and thought-provoking. Takashi Murakami has recently had an exhibition at the museum of Contemporary Art’s Geffen Contemporary.
Takashi Murakami had created some place mats that were used on the dinner tables at the event. Surprisingly it became the hottest item there and everyone had to have one. Guests at the event had to pay between $1,000 and $10,000 for a seat at one of the dinner tables. At the end of the event those guests were actually allowed to take the place mats home with them.
Someone has put a Takashi Murakami place mat up for bid on eBay. The starting price for the item is $999.99, it will be interesting to see if anyone bids on it and if they do how much the bid gets up to. We will watch the item and provide an news update when the auction ends.
