Diane Feinstein and Charles Schumer Support Michael Mukasey

Diane Feinstein and Charles Schumer put in there support today for Michael Mukasey, Attorney general Nominee. By doing so this pretty much guarantees that Michael Mukasey will receive all the votes he needs to have his confirmation endorsed. These two stepped up and announced they will vote to support him after Patrick Leahy’s came out and stated that he was going to vote against the Attorney general nominee.
Charles Schumer said that he was going to offer his support even though he does not think Michael Mikasey is his ideal candidate. Diane Feinstein had this to say, “First and foremost, Michael Mukasey is not Alberto Gonzales.” I think this is a pretty clear statement that she does not like it to much but that she will support it.
The vote will take place next Tuesday and if it goes as planned Mukasey nomination will be headed to the Senate for confirmation. It is really to bad what happened with Alberto Gonzales, but we do need to find a replacement and if this is the best there is right now then the country needs to move forward with it and not make such a big deal about it.
