When Was The First NCAA Tournament Played?

When was the first NCAA tournament played? Well it was created back in 1939 Phog Allen from the Univeristy of Kansas.
The NCAA tournament has become a huge tradition everywhere for basketball fans as it one of the most highly anticipated sporting events of the year. The tournament has several different names such as “The Big Dance” or “March Madness.”
The Big Dance consists of 65 teams that play in a single elimination tournament to determine one victor. The team’s are ranked according to each teams record, strength of schedule, and conference tournament winners. It is setup into 4 different regions that each house 16 teams which are ranked accordingly from 1 to 16. The tournament is extremely fun to watch and many people fill out a tournament bracket with their picks for the winners of each game and who they think will win the whole thing.
