Preston Mattingly is the son of baseball great Don Mattingly. He was just drafted in 2006 by the Los Angeles dodgers and is currently playing second base for the Single A team Great Lakes Loons.
Preston Mattingly is likely to be a lot closer to his father soon. Don Mattingly, who was the bench coach for Joe Torre and the New York Yankees this past season, will likely be hired as the bench coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers. There is a rumor floating around that the Los Angeles Dodgers will fire manager Grady Little and hire Joe Torre to manage the ball club. If this happens there is a very likely chance he will bring Don Mattingly on board.
Preston Mattingly is certainly wanting to follow in his fathers footsteps and become a baseball great. It would be awesome for his father to be in the same organization.
