Filed Under Business, U.S. News |
Catalogchoice.org is a new website that was created by a bunch of environmental groups. The website allows people that receive unwanted catalogs to go onto the website and have their name removed from catalog mailing lists. The nice thing about this service is that they do this all for nothing. You do not have to pay anything to have this service done for you.
Catalogchoice.org is attempting to change the fluctuation of catalogs that seem to hit consumer mailboxes at a never ending pace. A spokesperson for Catalogchoice.org had this to say about the new website, “Because the catalog industry has not provided an easy opt-out, foundations and non-profits got together, and this is the solution.”
Catalogchoice.org is offering a great service, especially when you consider some numbers that have been crunched. A study completed by the Environment Defense says that the typical household receives 114 catalogs per year. That is a lot of catalogs is you consider the millions of households there are in the country. I can’t even imagine how much waste that consumes. So if you are sick of getting catalogs that you don’t want or you want to help protect the environment you should check out Catalogchoice.org. We will update you on any breaking news involving this new website.
