Konarka Technologies Solar Power Windows

Konarka Technologies is going to be researching and developing solar power windows. The flexible solar modules are transparent and will be used on windows and other things on buildings. Konarka Technologies has received $4.7 million contract awarded by the federal institute’s Advanced Technology Program.
Konarka Technologies will be partnering up with Chemicals Inc. and Air Products to work on the solar power windows. Konarka has developed a transparent, metallic grid electrode technology that will be used for the solar cell and module structure. Air Products will be spending their time working on developing organic photovoltaic cells that are more efficient. This will help to improve overall cell electrical performance and will make the solar power windows technology possible.
If Konarka Technologies succeeds in their development of the solar power windows it provide an excellent new source of energy. It is quite amazing technology in my opinion and they obviously have a very good idea what they are doing or they would not have won the $4.7 million in funding. We will update you on any further news regarding Konarka Technologies and the trek to build solar power windows.
