Tres Personajes (Three People) has been found in the trash in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The Tres Personajes painting was painted by Mexican Artist Rufino Tamayo that was created back in 1970. Tres Personajes was stolen around 20 years ago and has been part of an ongoing FBI investigation.
Tres Personajes is estimated to be worth a whopping $1 million. The painting also called, three people, was featured on the “Antiques Roadshow FYI” back in 2005 by August Uribe. August Uribe is an expert in this field and had identified this painting as a missing masterpiece.
The women that found the Tres Personajes did not know what she had when she found it lying in a garbage can. She claims that she saw it when she was walking by and that it had a strange power to it. She took the painting out of trash and took it home with her. The women figured out what the painting was after doing some research on the internet.
Tres Personajes has been returned to its rightful owners who live in Houston Texas. The famous painting by Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo is going to be auctioned off on November 20 where it is expected to get bids for around $1 million. It is also nice to see something like this find it way back home to its rightful owners. It really makes me wonder who had the painting and what they were thinking when they threw it out when it had a value of so much money. This is a very crazy news story if you ask me.
