Jennifer Levin was murdered by the Preppie Killer as they called him back in 1986.  Jennifer Levin was born on May 21, 1968 and was 18 years old at the time of the murder.  The murder investigation received a lot of publicity as the this is where the term Preppie Killer came into play.  Many media outlets reported the story as ”The Preppie Murder.”

Jennifer Levin was born in Long Island, New York and went to a private school in the Upper East Side called the Baldwin School.  At the time of the murder she was working as a waitress and had a bright future planned.  She was going to attend Chamberlayne Junior College where she would study, but did not ever get to go due to her death. 

Jennifer Levin’s killer, the Preppie Killer, had the real name of Robert Chambers.  She and Robert had reportedly dated for a short while prior to the murder.  His story that he told investigators changed several times and was not consistent with the evidence that was found.  Jennifer Levin was found around two hours after her and the Preppie Killer left a nightclub.  The naked body was spotted by a passing cyclist and the wounds found on her body were sure signs of being strangled to death.  Robert Chambers had scratches on his face, he told investigators that the scratches were from his cat.  Further evidence revealed that his cat had been declawed.  Another interesting thing about the Preppie Killer’s story is that he claimed Jennifer Levin raped him.  The evidence found by investigators was not consistent with his story.  Jennifer Levin had bruises around her neck as.  The investigators of the body determined these were both from Robert Chambers and Jennifer as she tried to get the hands that were choking her off of her neck.  Police found her panties some 5o yards form the scene as it was also reported that the Preppie Killer watched from a safe distance while police investigated the scene.
