Bart Whitaker  is currently serving a life sentence on death row for the murder of his mother and brother.  “48 Hours” ran a special tonight on the Bart Whitaker case and the bizarre Sugarland Texas murder.  It is being called “The Sugar Land Conspiracy,” and it will take an in-depth look at the murders that took place back in 2003.

Bart Whitaker created a master plan in which he recruited a couple of friends to help him follow through with his plan.  It took several hears for investigators to uncover the plan that was created by Bart Whitaker to murder his family.  The motive for Bart Whitaker to murder his family was a $1 million dollar heritance he would receive.

Bart Whitaker received the death sentence in the march trial.  One of his accomplices received a life sentence.  His role in the plot was to actually commit the shootings.  The second accomplice in the plot received 15 years as part of a plea deal.

This is a very interesting tragedy in my opinion.  However, it gets more interesting and is starting to cause some controversy.  Bart Whitaker has created a blog from within death row and has started creating posts.  I checked it out to night and have to say it is a little more than creepy.  I never in my right mind thought there could be any kind of communication such as this with a prisoner on death row.  If you interested in checking out his site you can find it here.  I would be very interested to know what you think about this story and especially about Bart Whitaker and his blog
