Trey Hillman is the new manager of the Kansas City Royals.  He was hired today by general manager of the Kansas City Royals Dayton Moore.  Trey Hillman is a vetran of the minor league system of the New Your Yankees, he has spent 13 seasons managing there.  Currently he is managing the Nippon Ham Fighters in the Japan World Series, he has been managing in Japan for the last five years.  Trey Hillman was successful in the minor leagues winning the manager of the year award three different times. 

Trey Hillman will be an interesting fit with the Royals.  He replaces old manager Buddy Bell who came out and said he would be stepping down at the end of the season back in August.  The Kansas City Royals were 69-93 this year so there is much work to be done.  Trey Hillman has a large uphill battle against him as the Royals have not been to the postseason since the 1985 season.  The team will be counting on some young talent to build the team up.  We will see how it goes for them as I am certain it will be a work in progress.

Trey Hillman has been a huge success story in Japan.  The first two years he was over there his team showed significant improvement.  The part that the Royals will be banking on is that fact that by his 4th season Trey Hillman got his team to the Japan World Series which they won.  They are back there again this season.  I surely hope the Kansas City Royals have made a good choice for their next manager.  It would be awesome to see the Royals have a winning season and make it to the playoffs.  The Royals are expected to announce their new manager on Monday of next week.  We will update you if there is any change to this news.
