Stephen Colbert Announced Presidential Bid

Stephen Colbert has announced his Presidential bid. The comedian states on his show the Colbert Report “I have heard the call.” He then goes on to say “Nation, I shall see the office of the president of the United States!” Can this be for real, is Stephen Colbert really running for President? Well only time will tell, he claims he has officially announced his Presidential bid but this has not been confirmed after his remarks on his show.
If Stephen Colbert were to actually get on the ballot what would this do to the rest of the candidates? Well at this point who knows, everyone might just laugh like they do now, after all he is a comedian.
One interesting thing Stephen Colbert also said when he announced his Presidential bid was that he plans to get on both ballots in his hope state of South Carolina. This means he wants to show up on the Democratic and Republican ballot. This may be a clue on whether or not he is really being serious about his bid. I say this because current party regulations don’t allow a candidate to be on both ballots. He would have to choose one side or the other and I would have thought he would have looked into something like this before announcing his candidacy. What do you think?
