The Mutts and Moms owners Marina Baktis and Vanessa Chekroun have gone on record at stated that they are receiving death threats. The Mutts and Moms owners are receiving the death threats after the incident that was reported yesterday on the Ellen DeGeneres show. Mutts and Moms owners Marina Baktis and Vanessa Chekroun have received a crazy amount of death threats and arson threats. This happened after Mutts and Moms took back the dog named Iggy that Ellen Degeneres had given to her hairdresser because Iggy did not get along with her cats. She truly thought she was doing a good thing but it turns out she breached a contract Ellen had with Mutts and Moms. Ellen was seen on her show yesterday sobbing while telling her story of what happened and begging for owners Marina Baktis and Vanessa Chekroun of Mutts and Moms to give Iggy back to her hairdresser. The kids, ages 12 and 13, had already gotten attached to Iggy and it just doesn’t seem fair to take something away that they loved.
Marina Baktis spoke with Access Hollywood yesterday evening and had this to say “People are being so cruel to us. People are sending things that say ‘Nazi’ and words that I can’t repeat. You know so we can’t even review adoption applications because at this point we think the threat givers are just gonna come and try to hurt our animals.” She also said that she is very concerned for her own safety as well as the safety of her own pets.
Mutts and Moms is now losing business according to Marina Baktis and what has been reported in the news because they are afraid to go to work and they feel that their reputation has now been destroyed due to this event. What did they expect would happen? When you are dealing with someone that has a large following and audience such as Ellen has, there is always the potential for bad things to happen. Ellen has very loyal visitors, but if you think about what good reason did they have to take the dog away from those kids? Is there not some paperwork that could have been filled out and had everything be ok? That is the part that doesn’t make sense and I believe that is what is upsetting everyone, it just doesn’t make sense.
