Pinkberry gets 27.5 from Starbucks founder Howard Schultz’s.  Pinkberry is a frozen yogurt chain that opened two years ago that is just on fire.  The Pinkberry yogurt chain already has 32 stores in New York and Los Angeles with plans to expand to 50 stores by the year end.

The deal between Pinkberry and Howard Schultz’s venture capital firm is expected to be announced later today.  In a press release where Schultz’s was talking about the deal he called the owners and founders of Pinkberry “visionary entrepreneurs” and said that their brand as “a cultural phenomenon.”  This should be very exciting news for Pinkberry founders Shelly Hwang and Young Lee.

Pinkberry has created a cult like atmosphere with the design of their stores using high end chairs, Philippe Starck, and lamps, Le Klint.  The Pinkberry frozen yogurt has a tart but sweet flavor and you can add in toppings such as fresh fruit, fresh granola, and even cereal.  What has really helped Pinkberry to take off is the fact that celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Salma Hayek love the place.  This in turn brings a lot of other customers wanting to know what all the fuss is about and if celebrities like they are sure to like it also.

It will be cool to see what happens with Pinkberry, we will update you on any news about the company.  I know I am interested to try it but I don’t live in New York or Los Angeles.  Maybe with their new store openings they will have one near me soon.
