Carol Bruce dies at the age of 87 years old.  She is a singer and stage actress from back in the 1940’s.  She became very well known for her role in “WKRP in Cincinnati”, where she played Mama Carlson.  Her character was the station’s owner and was a tough business woman.

Carol Bruce dies from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  This disease makes it very difficult for someone to breath and causes a lot of coughing up of mucus and pain.

Carol Bruce was a very busy women, she appeared in 5 different films over her career.  She appeared in more than 25 different televisions shows and she appeared on occasion in different Broadway shows.  She had a very long career in show biz and will be sadly missed.

Carol Bruce was born 1919 in Great Neck, New York.  She began her career in the 1930’s performing as a singer at nightclubs.  She is survived by a daughter, Julie Nathanson-Coryell, her sister, Marilyn Berk, two grandsons, and two great grandsons.  It is awesome that she lived long enough to have great grandchildren and I am sure the news of her death will cause her family to sorely miss her.
