Courtney Curtis Homecoming Parade Death

Courtney Curtis of Custer County High School was the victim of a tragic accident. The homecoming parade death happened Saturday afternoon. Courtney Curtis was trying to get on one of the homecoming floats that was in the parade and the driver of the truck was not aware she was trying to get on. She fell under the back wheels of the 18 wheel trailer the float was sitting on.
Courtney Curtis was flown to a hospital in Colorado Springs by the name of Memorial Hospital. She was in critical condition at the hospital and passed away Saturday afternoon. She was only 15 years of age and had a lot left to live for. The rest of the Homecoming parade and homecoming activities including the football game were cancelled. The game has been rescheduled for Monday afternoon. Classes have also been cancelled for monday and grief coucelors will be on hand to help and talk to any students that are interested.
The Courtney Curtis homecoming parade death took place in Westcliffe, Colorado which is a small town located about 50 miles west of Pueblo, Colorado and is not used to being in the headlines of the news.

Courtney its been alittle over 3 months now, and im still in shock. I miss you soooo much. you’ll always be in my heart forever! I always remember you.
