What is the Phantom Vibe? Cell phone users have been claiming that they have been reaching for the phones because they feel it vibrating when they don’t have their phones on them. If you think this sounds like strange news you are right, but that does not mean it doesn’t happen.
People have compared the Phantom Vibe to the Phantom Limb which can be present with those that have had a limb amputated. It is defined as a painful sensation of having the presence of the limb that in fact has been amputated. Jake Ward, who is the former press secretary of Senator Olympia Snowe, explained the Phantom Vibe well. He stated that at times he will look at his phone but it will not be vibrating and then while looking at it the phone starts vibrating. He says that him and his Blackberry are one.
