Banquet Recall
Banquet recall has not been issued by ConAgra Foods. This is what is being reported in the news by the Associated Press. ConAgra Foods Inc. as well as the U.S. Department of Agriculture are telling people to just not eat the turkey or chicken pot pies until they can investigate the salmonella outbreak. So far there have been 139 cases that have been linked to salmonella. This outbreak spans over 30 states with several people being hospitalized, the good news is no deaths have been reported to date.
Some stores are taking matters into their own hands and removing the pot pies that they felt there should have been a Banquet Recall on. Officials from ConAgra have stated that they feel the pot pies are still safe to eat if they are cooked all the way through. It seems that this issue lies with the pot pies being cooked in the microwave. They are currently in the process of changing the cooking directions on the box to provided instructions for various types of microwaves.
Let’s hope this was the right move not issue a Banquet Recall by ConAgra Foods.
