Campbell Soup Recall 72,000 Cans, Consumers Report Minor Injuries
Filed Under U.S. News |
There was a voluntary Campbell Soup Recall announced on Thursday by Campbell Soup Company. The soup recall involved 72,000 cans of the Campbell’s Chunky Baked Potato with Cheddar & Bacon Bits. The specific cans involved were the 18.8 ounce cans. The reason for the recall was due to a potential hazard of choking from hard plastic pieces that the company believes may be inside the cans.
Campbell’s has provided some information on the can code of the cans that are being recalled. The code is “JUL 08 2009 07097″. If you find the Campbell’s Chunky Baked Potato with Cheddar & Bacon Bits with this code on it, they advise taking the product back to the store that it was purchased from and either exchanging it for a new product or getting a refund.
The company stated that they have had three reports from consumers that have had minor injuries from the said plastic pieces. Let’s hope that those that have purchased this variety of soup read this information in time to prevent further injuries.
